On this page, you will find Memorials for our much beloved Humans and also for our much beloved dogs that have gone to the Rainbow Bridge...
(The Memorials will be listed in order of the most recent to leave us at the top)
Rene Kiel belonged to Amy as he purchased her because he wanted to give a deaf Dane a great home. Amy was an ambassador for the breed and she was last seen by many at our Specialty Show's Rescue Parade. She was a wonderful and kind friend to Rene and he will miss her deeply. The rest of us will also miss seeing and petting Amy at club meetings.

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Mr. Len Reese, a valued member of our club.
Our thoughts are with Len's wonderful wife, Catherine and their family at this time of sadness.
We celebrated Len's life at his Memorial on Thursday, June 11th.
Catherine has requested that if anyone would like to honor Len's memory, that in lieu of flowers, that they make a donation to the GDCSD Rescue Fund (not tax exempt) or donate for the purchase of ribbons for the participants of next year's Rescue Parade.
For many of us, Brucie was our first human contact in the world of Great Dane Show Dogs. Brucie always had time for questions and was a well respected Great Dane Fancier. As a long standing member of the club, she will be sorely missed by club members, friends and all Great Dane lovers. Our thoughts are with her lovely husband Gene and family.
Gail Neet - Human
The Gail Neet Rescue Parade is our Memorial to Gail Neet, a TRUE rescuer of our Noble Breed. Gail thought that watching a dog show was "like watching paint dry", but, she attended the shows anyway, to support the club, the people and of course...the dogs. And, to bring attention to the plight of dogs in this country that are not bred by ethical breeders. Gail's interest was in saving the lives of the Danes that were thrown away, placed in shelters and waiting to be euthanized. Gail and John rescued over 300 Great Danes and found wonderful adoptive homes for them.
